Working together in partnership with children and families to enhance
independence, safety, and health, at home, in school, out of trouble and
in the community.
Key Elements
- Preventative Services - The prevention component is made up of
existing community resources that are working with children and
families:
Atascadero Youth Task Force (466-5465)
City Community Service Department (Community
Services)
Y.M.C.A. 5901 East Mall (
School PTAs
This connection between service providers and community prevention
programs will increase the families ability to link with vital
community resources.
- Community Based Services - There are currently community based teams
located in Paso Robles and Atascadero providing services. The
community based team works closely with the family, schools and other
community resource partners to provide early intervention services.
The Atascadero team operates out of the Atascadero Family Resource
Center and has family advocates working at Creston, Santa Margarita,
San Benito, Santa Rosa and the Atascadero Junior High School. The team
develops with the family based on the families strengths and concerns
a plan of action to mitigate the circumstances standing the in the way
of the family's or child's success.
- Intensive Services - The intensive team is based at the Chestnut
Street Family Resource Center in Paso Robles and services the entire
North County. Parents are again included as partners. Most services at
the intensive level are provided in-home. This level of service is
designed for families whose children are at risk for our of home
placement.
All of the teams work closely with the families to provide them with the
tools they need to be happy and successful.
