SEPTEMBER 2009
- We opened our Community Support Center in San Miguel. Our new Family
Advocate Diana Resendez is already providing assistance to families in need.
This center is operating in cooperation with the San Miguel School District
and the San Miguel Resource Connection.
- We made the Family Advocate Assignments for the 2009 School Year.
- Abel Tagre will provide services to the Fine Arts Academy, The Junior High
School and the High Schools well as supporting the Latino needs at Santa
Rosa and other Elementary Schools as needed.
- Robyn Shoffner will provide services to Santa Margarita, San Benito, San
Gabriel and Monterey Road as well at Creston and Carrissa Plains on an
on-call basis.
- Sonia Greene will provide Latino services to Santa Rosa and to other
elementary schools as required.
- Teens at Work purchased a vehicle for their activities. This will allow
them to transport their recycling collections and equipment they use for
events.
- Our 6th Annual Golf Tournament was a huge success and we are looking
forward to next year. Next year tournament is Saturday, September 26, 2009
at Chalk Mountain Golf Course. Please visit the Golf Page (click
here) to view your sponsorship opportunities and/or register for next
years tournament. This tournament is unique and fun since we put a young
person to complete each team.

have the
opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child right here
in
Atascadero. Your $100 per month will sponsor one family to receive
on going assistance and support to regain their footing and establish a
normal life for their children. Your $50 per month would provide
immediate intervention in the crisis of one family or your $10 per
month would provide the referral and
support to help a family find
one-time needed assistance.
We
hope you will open your hearts and wallets to our local families who need
a helping hand to get back on their feet. The Community LINK works closely
with the school
district, government agencies and private charities to provide
assistance to struggling families and young people and we depend on
the public’s generosity to accomplish this job.
