Purpose The LINK, in cooperation with the Atascadero Unified
School District, is a community
and school linked program designed to bring services to the community of
Atascadero. The program works with families
on three levels;prevention, community based services and intensive
services. In addition, conduct outreach and
provides information to the community on available resources including
specific efforts
to the Latino Community. Prevention The prevention component is made up of existing
community resources that are working with the
community (i.e. the LINK, Chamber of Commerce, P.T.A.’s, Parks &
Recreation , Y.M.C.A., etc.).
This connection between service providers and community
prevention programs will increase the clients
abilities to link with vital resources and services. Community
Services Driven by client needs, community based
organizations and local offices of county service providers cooperate
to provide early intervention services to the community members. Together
, they develop a coordinated service delivery plan using the client’s
strengths and addressing their concerns.
The family advocate,
works
closely with the client and service providers. Most of the
services are provided
locally and complement each other to develop a healthy solution. Intensive
Services The intensive level services are also client driven
through a team approach. These services address serious
problems posing a threat to the client or family members. These services
are frequently
mandated and designed to maintain the family and avoid
dislocation of the family, out of home
placement of a child or fragmentation of the family
